Tyler Wagoner (b. 1991, North Carolina) is a fine art photographer and visual artist based in North Carolina, USA. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and a minor in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Wagoner’s work explores concepts of identity, memory, and the complexities of the human condition. His practice delves into the nature of existence, the spaces we inhabit—both physically and emotionally—and the nuanced interplay between personal and collective experiences. Wagoner also investigates the ever-evolving relationship between self and society, questioning how cultural and social constructs shape our understanding of belonging and emotional resilience.
His body of work spans several projects, including Safe Spaces (ongoing), a look into queer nightlife and chosen family; Memento Series (2022), which examines the relation of objects in memory to those we have lost; and currently How I’ve Been Feeling Lately (2025), an introspective journey of emotional and psychological landscapes.
His work from Safe Spaces and the Memento series has been featured in Float Magazine (2023) and exhibited at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center in Denver, Colorado as part of the permanent collection. In addition to his artistic practice, he served as a curator for In the Periphery, a photographic exhibition on liminality, at The Light Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina.
